Madeline, Niladri, and Reed attended the 9th Annual Conference on Beneficial Microbes together at the University of Wisconsin-Madison. This was both Madeline and Niladri’s first conferences as members of the lab! Niladri presented a poster titled “Identification of Secondary Metabolites and Biosynthetic Gene Clusters from Cystic Fibrosis Microbiomes” based on his work from his first semester in the laboratory. His poster was very popular! Together, we also learned what’s been going on in the world of beneficial microbes and enjoyed talks about bees, squid, and many more cool symbiotic systems! In addition to working hard at the conference, we also made sure to take in the sights in Madison and enjoyed afternoons on the Memorial Terrace near the lake. Congratulations on a successful conference everyone!
